About
What we offer
CAAS PPL Practice Tests is an online practice-exam tool covering all seven subjects of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore Private Pilot Licence theory exam: Air Law, Aircraft General Knowledge, Human Performance, Meteorology, Navigation, Principles of Flight, and Radio Telephony.
The site is available in a free, ad-supported tier and a paid subscription tier so you can pick whichever fits how seriously you are studying at the moment. There is no app to install — everything runs in your browser on desktop or mobile.
Who it's for
The primary audience is Singapore student pilots preparing for the CAAS PPL theory exams. Because the CAAS syllabus is based on ICAO standards, the questions also tend to be useful for pilots elsewhere in the region sitting equivalent national PPL theory exams. If you are a recreational or microlight pilot brushing up on theory, you should still find a fair amount of relevant material here.
How the practice tests work
Each subject has a pool of multiple-choice questions modelled on the real exam format. You pick a subject, take a quiz, and get instant feedback on each answer with a short explanation where useful. After the quiz you can review which questions you got wrong and read through the answers again before moving on.
Quizzes are short by design so you can fit one in around a study session or a commute, rather than committing to a long sitting every time. If you want a longer workout, just start another quiz in the same subject and the question selection will keep things varied.
Free vs Premium
The free tier lets you try two of the seven subjects without an account, and is ad-supported. It is intended to give you a feel for the question style and difficulty before you commit to anything.
Premium subscribers get unlimited access to all seven subjects, progress tracking and history saved against their account, and an ad-free experience.
Our approach to quality
Questions are reviewed against the current CAAS syllabus and the underlying ICAO references, and are updated as regulations change. The aviation rules in particular move every now and then, so the question pool is treated as a living document rather than a one-off release.
If you spot something that looks wrong, or a question that no longer matches the current rules, we genuinely want to hear about it. See the contact page for how to report it.
How this site came about
I started this site while studying for my own PPL. I wanted a way to drill practice questions while moving around Singapore — on the MRT, between meetings, in the evenings — and noticed there were no sites dedicated to practising for the PPL in Singapore. So I thought I would build one.
The version you are using has been through a number of iterations on the way to this one. The question pool, the free vs subscription split, the new study guides, and how and where ads are placed have all been refined as I have used the site myself and learnt what genuinely helps with exam prep versus what just adds noise. It is still a work in progress — if a question looks wrong, or an explanation could be clearer, please get in touch. Reader feedback is what keeps the question pool accurate.
The site is run as a one-person project and is not affiliated with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore or with any flight school. Feedback, corrections, and suggestions are welcome at lowkeycapdev@gmail.com.
